The 4-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel, is reportedly set to sign a deal with Racing Point/Aston Martin for next season. Despite the fact that there has been no official confirmation from either party, it only seems like a matter of time before the deal is set in stone.
The biggest hint of something being in the works regarding Vettel and the Silverstone-based outfit comes from Sergio Perez’s agent. For those who aren’t in the know, Perez is the fall guy if Vettel joins the team for next year.

Sergio Perez is reportedly on the lookout for a new seat in F1 2021
According to ESPN (translated by Google), “Sources close to the team confirmed to ESPN that Perez is aware of the deal between Lawrence Stroll, owner of the team and the German Vettel.
“(That) is why his agent Julian Jacobi has been working for weeks on the best option for Checo Perez.”
This all but confirms that talks have been or will soon be held between Sebastian Vettel and Stroll Sr. It’s only a question of when the big news will be announced. Reports suggest that it could be on the 2nd of August.
Despite strong performances from the Mexican, he was always going to lose the battle to someone who has won 4 world titles and is out of a contract.
This does leave a handful of options open for Checo. The teams that are yet to confirm even a single driver for 2021 are Mercedes, AlphaTauri, Alfa Romeo, and Haas.

We can also rule Williams out if Perez wants to go for a competitive team. From the teams that remain, rumors suggest that the Mexican’s likely destination will either be Alfa Romeo or Haas.

What the future holds for Perez, ahead of this season, seems rather uncertain. But for now, his job will be to build on his impressive performances in Austria.
He’ll be hoping for a few podium finishes this season before he goes back to competing in the midfield in 2021.
