Sergio Perez was a rockstar back at Sakhir. After an early spin involving him, Leclerc and Verstappen, Perez was the only racer who survived. To add to that, he won the race, clinching his maiden F1 victory. The emotion that followed was surreal.
Sergio Perez represents Mexico under the banner of Racing Point in F1. When the team sacked him to accommodate Sebastian Vettel, there was an enormous outrage from the fans. However, when the rumors of Red Bull considering Checo for 2021 surfaced, the fans rejoiced.
Checo has been on the Milton Keynes team radar for long. Considering his form the entire season and Albon’s failing performance, Red Bull remains open to replacing Albon.

After Perez’s win, at the Sakhir Grand Prix, Dr. Marko sent him his best wishes, and Team Principal Horner praised his abilities.
Horner said, “He sent me one back asking us to go and join him for some tequilas, because he was staying in the same hotel, which was very nice of him.
“I think everybody in the pitlane was delighted for him, to see him win that grand prix.
“He’s been around a long time, he drove for me in GP2 years ago, and I think he was a very popular winner last Sunday,” he added.

Sergio Perez still not the final choice for Red Bull
Sergio Perez might look as an obvious option for Red Bull, but it is not that simple. Alex Albon was a product of Red Bull scouting, and they don’t like to be proved wrong often. They will want to validate Albon till their very last breath.
They look forward to one positive weekend for Alex Albon. The Thai driver got several chances from the team of Red Bull, and even though he gave them a few strains of hope, it was nothing extraordinary. Thus, to hold him back, Alex Albon will have to deliver one wonderful weekend to defeat Perez.
Horner continued, “We’re giving Alex every opportunity as I’ve previously said.

“No decisions will be made until after this race.
“As I say, the focus is on doing the best job we can with Alex, and Sergio, he just needs to keep doing what he’s doing,” remarked the Red Bull boss.
The situation confuses Red Bull at this point. However, their thought will be devoid of any dubiety in a few days and they will be sure of their line of action. Both Sergio Perez and Alex Albon have but one race to determine their future.
