In an utter show of dominance, Red Bull won both championships for the first time since the 2013 season. In a season with 22 races, the team won 17 races. While Perez contributed to just 2 of those wins, his overall contribution was no mean feat. The Mexican driver finished third in the standings, securing 305 points of the team’s total of 759.
Sergio Perez expresses his gratitude to Red Bull employees with a special gift
After finishing the season on a career-high and with the holiday season approaching, Sergio Perez gifted each Red Bull employee a bottle of tequila. The bottle comes from the Mexican brand Patron, who collaborated with Perez on the product.
As per Joe Pompliano, the total cost of all bottles could be around $55,000. Each bottle came with a special note from Checo.
“Thank you for all of your hard work and support this season,” the note read. “I’m so proud to be part of the Red Bull family. Wishing you a wonderful holiday.”
“Enclosed, please enjoy a bottle of the number one super premium tequila in the world, Patron tequila.”
“Looking forward to next season. Salud! Checo Perez.”

Some fans suggested the gift did not really come from Perez as Patron was his sponsor.
Good gesture. (but they’re his sponsor, so the gift most likely wasn’t from him)

However, some fans came to his defense as it was the gesture that mattered and not whether the brand sponsored the gifts.
exactly! everyone knows checo loves tequila so I think it’s super cute that’s what he gifted them it doesn’t matter if he’s sponsored or not

Also, checo is very well known to make nice gestures like that for his team. there’s so many pictures of him taking out his team for dinner and stuff like that, he’s a nice person. I don’t understand the outrage for a fucking bottle of tequila 💀

One fan told Checo was an ambassador and investor of the brand. Therefore, even if the gifts came from Patron, Perez’s owrevenues would also take a hit
FYI: Checo is an ambassador and investor of Tequila Patron, plus the gift to RB Team maybe be part of the revenues of the brand sponsorship pays to him as an ambassodor of Tequila Patron, cheers https://t.co/IuNPpxXVTo
