The duo of Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel, despite not being teammates, was possibly the best on the grid. The understanding and respect between the two were evidently good since Vettel had undoubtedly taken up a mentoring role for Mick as Mick’s father, Michael Schumacher, did for Sebastian in the early days of his career.

Thus, Vettel, as a mentor, always liked to help out Mick in his two years in F1. And now, despite both of them not being on the grid, they remain close, as understood from Mick’s recent statement, quoted by Motorsport NextGen Auto, that defines their relationship.

The former Haas driver said, “The good thing is that I know I can always get comfort from Seb, I just need to make a phone call.” He further claimed that everyone’s beloved Seb would consider a return just like his father did after three years with Mercedes in 2010.

“We have seen in the past that even if you are retired today, that does not mean that you will not return in three years. My father did it. I’m sure Sebastian, once he gets bored, will think about it too. I hope he will and that we will be teammates,” he added, ending the statement, which would always be followed by the awws of every reader.

There was a moment in 2021 when both the Germans fist-bumped each other after the race, and then Vettel proceeded to inspect Mick’s Haas and appeared to have suggested improvements.
