“I’m sitting here kind of accepting, yeah, this is your last race but you’ll be back,” said Lewis Hamilton, talking about Sebastian Vettel‘s retirement from the sport during the press conference at Yas Marina Circuit in 2022. Lewis said it, but we all felt it. It was a difficult goodbye for the fans and the sport alike. However, how long can you stay away from something that you love from every fiber of your being?
For Sebastian Vettel, it means apparently not too long. While the man himself claimed that he cannot be certain if this retirement is permanent as there may be chances that he goes crazy in six months and wants to come back. However, someone from Red Bull wants to see him come back in an interesting capacity.
Yuki Tsunoda became the recent guest of the F1 Beyond the Grid Podcast. While in conversation, the host said, “I always thought Sebastian Vettel would be a brilliant team principal. I wonder what it would take to get him back.” To which Tsunoda replied, saying, “That will be really interesting. I am really interested to see how Sebastian gonna be team manager.”

He further added, “He can be anything. For example, Helmut is doing now in Red Bull Junior. If Helmut being another job or—I think Sebastian is also really good at handling Red Bull junior team because he is driver. Most recent driver, one the most successful driver in Formula 1.” The host asked, “You see Sebastian more likely taking over from Helmut than taking over from Franz?” and Yuki replied in affirmative.
While Yuki has made his wish for Sebastian Vettel’s return, another man from the racing world has declared Vettel’s return in a similar fashion. While people do make a comeback from retirements, will Seb do it?

Ted Kravitz of Sky Sports believes that we may see a “surprise comeback of Sebastian Vettel”. However, will it be like that of a driver? Kravitz believes that the quadruple champion won’t be coming back as a driver. He also believes that the German won’t drive anymore.
Kravitz said, “And as a man of integrity, as I know he is, I don’t think he is going to disappoint everybody by going, ‘Ah, d’you know what, I wasn’t sincere in that, here we go, I am coming back as a driver’. And everybody will go, ‘Hang on, we said goodbye to you’. I think he will replace Helmut Marko, that is more likely. As the sort of motorsport adviser.”
