Coming out of turn 14, Schumacher was right behind Zhou Guanyu in the Alfa Romeo. However, he lost the rear of his VF-22 and crashed. Unfortunately, this accident destroyed the barrier and his car, which split in two. Subsequently, the red flags were waved.

It must have been a frightening moment for the drivers who were behind Schumacher. Vettel, however, did not see it live and was informed that the Haas driver was doing well after some time.

Thankfully, he feels better, but the German also felt the car had pace and as a result, he was pushing it to get into points position.
“I’m feeling alright,” stated Schumacher. “Obviously it’s very annoying. I think in terms of pace we were definitely there, it’s just a matter of keeping it on track, and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to do that.”
