Over the course of the last few years, Formula 1, as a sport, has really evolved in many aspects. Sure, there have been technological advancements but they’ve been there since the sport’s inception. What’s more impressive is the fact that F1 turned its cars, its power towards the social injustices through a pre-race ceremony. However, that only lasted for a couple of years and Sebastian Vettel isn’t exactly thrilled about it.

The pre-race ceremony in the subject is of several drivers taking a knee. And after two years of its life, F1 decided to scrap this ceremony from 2022 onwards.

This is something the Aston Martin driver recently addressed as he said, “I don’t think the issues and problems we’ve touched on will go away in two years. So I was a bit surprised.”

“I hope we as drivers can manage to come together and find a place where we can still articulate the issues that are important to us,” Vettel continued. “There are some drivers who don’t care about it. But I think some of them really care about it. It will be great to get together.”

The four-time world champion said, “The main thing is that we focus on the sport and not so much on the show.”
