The new 2022 season has been full of new changes. And the change in the structure of the car is the most prominent among them. Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel has recently opened up on this. The new cars have got heavier this time around. By keeping up with the regulations, the challengers now weigh around 800 kilograms. Many drivers are displeased with this. And one of them is the four-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel.

The former Ferrari driver conveyed on this, “If you ask the most obvious differences compared to last year’s car, the new cars are much heavier and you can see that by the way, the car behaves on the track. You have to get used to it.” Talking about the upcoming Monaco GP, Seb stated, “I think it would be more efficient if we were touring Monaco with a city bus instead of a simulator while preparing for the Monaco GP this year. !”

“You actually change your driving style naturally. Some cars suit you better, some take longer to get used to. Switching to existing vehicles is comparable to switching to exhaust-powered vehicles in my opinion.”, Vettel further stated.
What’s in for Sebastian Vettel at Aston Martin this season?

The Silverstone-based team had a good outing in Barcelona. Although they faced a few problems in Bahrain, it seems they have managed to solve most of them. Team drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll pushed their cars to the maximum. However, the German expressed that a little more testing time could’ve been better.
It’s too early to talk about the power scheme of the car, Vettel believes, as he’s still to understand the car fully. The former Red Bull driver also talked about the change in driving style. One changes their style according to the need. Some cars take too long to get adapted to, while some cars take very little time. Seb said he’s working on it too.

This is the second year at Aston Martin for the German. Vettel joined the greens coming from Ferrari last season and had a decent outing with them. Aston Martin finished in P7 with 77 points last season. As things stand, the British team is hopeful of a comeback against AlphaTauri and Alpine this season as they’ll push forward to take over the mid-field.
