No race weekend is complete without Sebastian Vettel, as this time he graces the Albert Park Circuit on a scooter. The German driver is arguably the most beloved soul present in the paddocks. While we dearly missed him in the past couple of races, the hilarious scooter photos have made up for his absence.

The four-time world champion now drives for Aston Martin Cognizant. Though the team has struggled to even bring in any points in the first two races, Seb’s presence might make all the difference. Seb’s German counterpart, Nico Hulkenberg, humbly stepped in for the driver but failed to provide any monumental performance. Teammate Lance Stroll has also not proven to be any better as he struggles with the car heavily.

Though Seb has returned, he might face certain penalties for riding a scooter and not wearing the helmet properly. There was a “Scooter Investigation” that took place after, apparently, a scooter came in to pick Vettel up after his car stopped and started to emit smoke in the middle of practice.

Vettel cleared the air by confirming that he did ask for permission. He revealed, “I said, ‘Can I drive it?’ Because I prefer to drive myself. And then he handed me the scooter, so I said, ‘OK,’ and he said, ‘Off you go.’ And I went.”

Apparently, Seb also said that he is much faster on the bicycle than on the scooter. Classic Seb!

Disappointing results for Aston Martin

Vettel was unfortunate, as this was a much-needed session for him. Having missed out on previous races, he needed a bit of practice as the track is not similar to what it was in 2019. While fans are very happy to have him back, minor situations like these could prove fatal for a team. Especially for Aston Martin, who currently stands at zero in the constructors. They’d need their star driver and car to be well prepared for the first points of the season.

Confirming his disappointment, Vettel added, “It stopped our running, which was painful, and unfortunately it also cost us the whole session in the afternoon, which is not ideal.”

However, he was hopeful of bouncing back and added, “I haven’t been in the car for a while. Plus the track is different. It will be fine tomorrow, but it would have been nice to get more laps.”

Well, we’re all very happy to have Sebastian back and we know that the man can pull together the best of performances even in the worst of times.
