Sebastian Vettel has been around in Formula One for a long time, right from his debut in 2007. Since then, he has accumulated a spectacular tally of points right up until this point.

The 4-time World Champion has now become the second driver to amass more than 3000 career points.

Naturally, the first driver to achieve this feat was Lewis Hamilton, on 3563 points. The next closest drivers are Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, at 1899 and 1859 points, respectively.

Alonso has a chance to extend his point-streak even further. This is largely because the Spaniard is going to race for the Renault F1 team, and they have great chances of racking up points.

In all honesty, Raikkonen has a chance strong chance of overtaking Alonso, as he is only 40 points behind. However, the Alfa Romeo car is far from a points contender, so he would be lucky if he can overtake the Spaniard.

Interestingly enough, Sebastian Vettel is not the only driver celebrating a new world record.

As it turns out, Kimi Raikkonen has now set the record for the most laps raced in Formula One. The Finnish veteran surpasses Michael Schumacher, with 16,910 laps under his belt, compared to 16,825.

Out of the active drivers, Lewis Hamilton is the closest person to the 2007 World Champion. The Mercedes driver has amassed 14, 598 laps, while Sebastian Vettel lies 3rd with 13,458 laps in his pocket.

Even Fernando Alonso has a chance to overtake Michael Schumacher, as he has 16,778 laps in his pocket. Hopefully, if we get a full 2021 season, Alonso has an opportunity to pass Michael Schumacher. In other words, Alonso is 47 laps away from Michael Schumacher, and a further 132 laps away from Raikkonen.

However, Kimi Raikkonen can still extend that gap even further, because the 2020 season is not over yet.
