Sebastian Vettel did himself proud at the Race of Champions event in Sweden. After a poor show in the team event on Saturday, the German driver rallied himself to make it to the finals in the individual heats. Rally legend Sebastien Loeb beat the four-time F1 world champion in the finals.
After the conclusion. Vettel mentioned the highlight of his event was driving alongside Stig Blomqvist in the Audi Quattro S1. The Aston Martin F1 driver mentioned he begged the 1984 World Rally champion to give him a ride in the legendary car.

It was magical in many ways, so I really enjoyed it: Sebastian Vettel
As reported by The Race, Vettel mentioned the experience was magical in so many ways that he cannot even describe it. He also took a cheeky dig at Stig and his name, which is made popular by the British TV show Top Gear.
“More than that. I think the car is iconic, but then to have the chance to ride with the Stig–and the proper one, not the made-up one!–has been really cool.

I’m very grateful that Stig still does these types of events and then I was begging to get into the car and I used the opportunity to go side by side. It was magical in many ways. So I really enjoyed it,” said Vettel.
“In that car, I’m not sure I would be a passenger in a rally like the Monte Carlo or another one with the longest straights and faster corners! But it was really cool,” said Seb Vettel on the experience.

It is nice of Blomqvist to give Vettel a ride in his dream car and fulfill his wish. The German driver would hope to take some confidence from the event into the next season. The Aston Martin driver needs to have a more consistent season in 2022 to make headways in the championship.
