Sebastian Vettel, from being one of the most hated drivers on the grid in the early 2010s, has somehow turned into arguably the most loved driver, thanks to his down-to-earth behavior over the past couple of years.
For instance, Vettel would often arrive at Grand Prix events on a cycle as opposed to his colleagues’ flashy supercars. What’s more, Vettel once even stayed back at Silverstone following the race to clear out the garbage from the stands along with the other marshals.
Amidst his ever-growing concern for the environment, the four-time world champion revealed that he is keen on meeting one of the youngest environmental activists, the 19-year-old Greta Thunberg.

What did Sebastian Vettel say?
As reported by Motorsport-Total, Vettel lauded the Swedish activist for her achievements over the past few years and admitted that he is indeed a fan of Thunberg. He further acknowledged that the entire world must follow her lead in order to attain a better future.
“I would even welcome it, and we probably share many views when it comes to Formula 1. I think it’s great,” he told Süddeutsche Zeitung.
“It is encouraging that she is fighting for our future with such determination. A real example that the whole world should follow and, above all, older men should pay more attention. But there are many role models, many inspiring people. I always find it hard to name a name,” Vettel added.

The Red Bull world champion opened up that his decision to leave Ferrari had nothing to do with his growing interest in social matters. “I didn’t have to change teams,” he said.
“I think I’ve just gotten older. Even as a father, views, and opinions shift. You take on responsibility and grow with it. In addition, I’m naturally curious and open to other opinions. I find this process natural and Completely independent of my team or profession.”
