We all know every driver that competes in Formula 1 possesses a unique set of skills. However, even though every driver is unique there is one aspect that binds them, it’s the hunt for the ultimate prize. So when the goal of winning the championship becomes common, drivers pick up some traits that make them similar as well. These traits can reveal themselves in the unlikeliest fashion and in the most casual scenarios. This is exactly what happened when Max Verstappen showcased his inner Sebastian Vettel in a scenario during the Spanish GP.
Let us tell you about the scenario first. Toward the last stint of the 66-lap race, Verstappen was shown a black and white flag for exceeding the track limits one too many times, much to the amusement of Lando Norris. Any more violations would’ve resulted in a time penalty. With Lewis Hamilton 18 seconds behind, it could’ve been a nervous ending. But not for Verstappen.
The Dutchman proceeded to ask who has set the fastest time during the race. To this, as heard in a video on Twitter, his trackside engineer Gianpiero Lambiase (GP) gave him the answer but warned him of any unnecessary risks. After that, we’ll just detail the conversation between the two.

Lambiase: “Like I said you’ve been given a black-and-white flag so we cannot afford to risk anything.”
Verstappen: *proceeds to set the fastest lap in the following lap*
Lambiase: “Okay now can you bring it home within the white lines.”
Verstappen: “Yeah yeah”
The reply from Verstappen tells you exactly the kind of ruthless and nonchalant driver he is. This trait of his is what makes him a world champion and for the longest time, it was a trait that even Sebastian Vettel showcased.
Fans loved watching Max Verstappen channeling his inner Sebastian Vettel
After coming across the Tweet, the fans couldn’t help but enjoy Verstappen’s menacing thoughts win during the race. This scenario also made the fans compare the Dutchman to Red Bull’s wunderkind, Sebastian Vettel.
I remember Seb used to do the same during his redbull days used to dominate the Feild.

Apart from the Vettel reference, the fans also laughed about Verstappen not paying any heed to GP’s warnings when there was a point to be won.
GP should know telling Max to not go for fastest lap is a waste of breath 😂
