Lewis Hamilton has his name in the record books next to Schumacher and Senna. Many think that Hamilton has the best car on the grid and hence keeps on dominating. But Jacques Villeneuve thinks that Hamilton has always been triumphant due to the support he gets from his team.

The Knight equaled Schumacher’s record by winning his seventh title last season. Now in 2021, Hamilton looks to set his own record by winning his eighth title with help from the Brackley-based outfit.

The number 44 driver took home the victory in Bahrain. He had to fight off Red Bull’s Verstappen to get the win. Hamilton currently sits on top of the driver’s standings and hopes to carry this form into Imola as well.

Former world champion thinks Lewis Hamilton wins because of his team’s support

In an interview with Corriere, Villeneuve said, “I do not know. Michael and Ayrton have won with cars they didn’t have to win. In complicated situations, without the support of the team.”

“Lewis, on the other hand, has always dominated with the best means and internal support. We should see it without these two conditions,”  Jacques concluded. (Translated from Italian via Google)

The new F1 boss favors Hamilton to win 2021

Stefano Domenicali thinks that the Mercedes driver will win his eighth title in 2021. Hamilton already won the opening round in Bahrain after an intense battle with Dutch driver, Max Verstappen. He leads in the standings and Domenicali thinks Lewis will be the one lifting the trophy at the end of the season.

Speaking to Autobild Domenicali said, “Lewis is important. First of all, he has an incredible challenge ahead of him namely to become the first and only driver with eight World Championship titles. So his focus will be on that.”

He added, “Of course, he is also actively campaigning against racism and for diversity. It’s crucial that he feels comfortable in Formula 1 because that’s where he belongs. And that’s where we and the fans want to see him.” (Translated from German via Google)
