Ralf Schumacher’s opinion holds a lot of value in the world of F1, and rightly so. The German analyst belongs to the famous Schumacher legacy and renders a crisp opinion about a myriad of topics in F1. His recent column spoke of Mercedes and the table toppers.

The fight for the top spot is intense, as far as being the strongest teams on the paddock is concerned. The likes of McLaren and Racing Point seem unstoppable. Perez is performing exceptionally well and Lance is juicing his ‘Pink Mercedes’ for all that it is worth.

However, the Silver Arrows are still leaps and bounds ahead of the other constructors and remain an indomitable force. Schumacher feels that the German constructors are way ahead and are out of the competition.

That leaves 2 spots empty; and this is where the actual battle rages. Red Bull may seem comfortable in their P2, but the conditions may disturb them.

“I look forward to the coming weekend with great anticipation. Mercedes feels out of competition at the moment. But after that it will be really exciting again. 

“Among other things, I have a lot of confidence in McLaren. I’m not so sure about Red Bull yet. They need rather warm temperatures.” assessed the German

Red Bull’s mission to get Mercedes will have to wait

Ralf predicts a storm coming Red Bull’s way, considering how the power unit has been malfunctioning. To make matters worse, Nurburgring may witness rain, snow, or both this weekend. Red Bull will have to keep an eye out for that if they want Max on the podium.

“I can basically rule that out for the Nürburgring in October. Even snow is not impossible! The weather can and will have a major impact on the weekend. This is traditionally the case at the Nürburgring. That promises to be very entertaining for the audience,” warned Ralf.

Eventually, it all comes down to the tracks. The teams can prepare as much as they want, but it all boils down to the moment the lights go out. Till then, all we can do is speculate.
