Lewis said that Max Verstappen being able to win the championship on Sunday is “not great for the sport”. With 5 races still remaining in the season after Singapore, Hamilton is worried about Max’s dominance in the future.
Subsequently, the Red Bull driver has won a whooping 11 of the possible 16 races this season. He now chases Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher‘s record of most wins in a season which is 13. Moreover, watching the Dutch Lion’s dominance, it is likely that he can easily win all the remaining races in the calendar.
Furthermore, Red Bull and Max’s destruction of their competition and rivals prompted Lewis to make such a statement. Naturally, fans were left fuming on Twitter due to Lewis’ ironic statement.
