Irony doesn’t spare anyone, including 7-time Formula 1 winner, Lewis Hamilton. Such was the case with Lewis Hamilton after he made a claim on Max Verstappen winning the title on Sunday. Formula 1 returns to Singapore after a break and it brings forth lots of drama.

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton are on a barren run, without a win in 17 races. While that sure is frustrating, Lewis Hamilton has made a damning claim about Max Verstappen possibly winning his 2nd title in Singapore.

Lewis said that Max Verstappen being able to win the championship on Sunday is “not great for the sport”. With 5 races still remaining in the season after Singapore, Hamilton is worried about Max’s dominance in the future.

Subsequently, the Red Bull driver has won a whooping 11 of the possible 16 races this season. He now chases Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher‘s record of most wins in a season which is 13. Moreover, watching the Dutch Lion’s dominance, it is likely that he can easily win all the remaining races in the calendar.

Furthermore, Red Bull and Max’s destruction of their competition and rivals prompted Lewis to make such a statement. Naturally, fans were left fuming on Twitter due to Lewis’ ironic statement.

Fans on social media were not happy with Lewis Hamilton’s statement as they expressed their opinions on Twitter. Moreover, they were quick to remind Hamilton of his ironic statement as they lashed out on the Mercedes star.

Fans called out the 7 time champion for his ironic comments. Furthermore, they reminded him about the time when he used to dominate the sport.

However, it is important to note that Lewis Hamilton admitted that it was the case when he was winning titles as well. The Mercedes man told Autosport“It’s never great when the season finishes early. Even when I’ve experienced having it finish early in places like Mexico”.
