The 2021 Formula One season will go down in history as one of the best seasons of all time. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen went into the last race tied on points and with just 1 win separating them. But it was Verstappen who took the title after passing lewis on the last lap of the race. Despite his loss, former F1 driver Romain Grosjean believes the 2021 season was Hamilton’s best in Formula1.

Hamilton is a 7-time world champion and has some amazing title-winning seasons. But the former Haas driver mentioned that Lewis’ level of performance this season was higher than his triumphant years.

Romain Grosjean rates 2021 season as the best one for Lewis Hamilton

In his year-end analysis of the 2021 season on his YouTube channel, Grosjean claimed that the 2021 season might just be the greatest season in F1 history. He broke down how two championship protagonists fought toe-to-toe throughout the year.

” Looking at the championship, we got two very different characters. We’ve got Lewis, 7-time world champion, very calm. I think he’s done his best season ever in Formula One.

Really drove outstandingly well, especially those last few races in the championship where Mercedes took the upper hand. For 57 laps in Abu Dhabi, he was going to be 8-time world champion, but there were 58 laps, “ said Grosjean.

He also gave his analysis on the performance of Red Bull and Max Verstappen.

“And Red Bull, Verstappen, and Honda were very fast through the whole season. A lot of wins and also some hard luck and if we look at Baku, Max was leading the race, and he had a puncture. So that’s 25 points gone. Budapest, Valtteri crashed into him so he lost good points there.” said Romain.
