One of the most prominent names in the world of Formula 1, Eddie Jordan, can’t stay too far from the sport. His stories transcend beyond the world of racing and continue to amaze us. And to tell more of those stories and share his insights, the former Jordan team owner has joined Red Bull legend David Coulthard for his own podcast, “Formula For Success” or “FFS”. In a recent episode, an unlikely name and story are heard.

Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood and Eddie Jordan go a long way back, even before the former joined the world-renowned band. The two also know each other up close, so much so that Jordan has a classic Wood painting, over which the two have had quite some banter. What’s the banter, you may ask? The painting that Jordan acquired was loved by Wood so much that he wanted to buy it back but failed to do so.

So, continuing it over his podcast, Eddie Jordan reveals some of Ronnie Wood’s secrets as the host duo plays a recorded message from the legendary artist himself. In the message, Wood, in a deep voice associated with rock singers, can be heard saying, “Hey, Eddie. This is Ronnie Wood. How are you doing, my old pal? I’m glad that you and Dave have got a podcast going. I’m still painting. Thanks for collecting my artwork, and I look forward to hearing your show and seeing you soon. All right, buddy.”

To this, Jordan immediately reveals, “That’s a man who’s consumed quite a lot of cigarettes in his life. I mean, that is the rock and roll voice, isn’t it? If ever you wanted a rock and roll voice, you want to replay that sound.”

The bromance, or chemistry, between the two veterans of their fields, was oozing in the messages as Jordan spilled tea about Wood’s dirty habits that came along with the world of rock and roll. David Coulthard was just left spellbound as he called Wood a legend.

The old connection between F1 and Ronnie Wood

F1 attracts the biggest names in the acting and music worlds wherever it goes. Special performances on the weekends become a major attraction for the crowd as the artists display the best of their works to woo the fans of the sport.

However, Ronnie Wood didn’t need to woo anyone when he performed with Jools Holland’s band at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 2002. The event was the opening ceremony for the Formula 1 season and brought the stars together to support the Brain & Spine Foundation.
