How much truth there is to the website claim? The Haas F1 team’s boss discusses it along with his nickname in an episode of F1: Beyond the Grid.
When Tom Clarkson asked about his ‘Rockstar’ tag, he said, “I mean, I don’t mind it.” But he defends himself, being associated with the tag. “I didn’t work for this. It’s not something that you try to do. What I try to do to run a racing team, get us competitive as possible and this just happened,” he said.
Talking about the website crash, he revealed the team decided to make merchandise by using things he has said. Once the company handling Haas’s merch put it for sale on their website, “the website crashed for four hours. They don’t know if it came to me,” he revealed.
