As the summer break is coming to a close, teams are preparing themselves for the second half of the season. Ferrari are said to bring in a new power unit in order to help close the gap to Red Bull and Mercedes.

Currently, the Italian team find themselves in third place in the constructors’ standings with 163 points under their belt. They hope that the incoming upgrades for the second half of the season will help get closer to the title contenders.

The Maranello-based team have certainly improved since their disastrous 2020 season. And despite three podiums, they are still not content with the results so far. Hence, Ferrari are going to get upgrades to their power unit to help get to the next level.

As reported by Motorsport, after analyzing the fuel, lubricants & hybrid parts, an increase of 10 horsepower will be achieved through the new updates. Additionally, they will use less fuel to deliver more power due to the high pressure in the combustion chamber.

Furthermore, the new updates will not only have a positive effect on the Scuderia, but also the customer teams. Haas and Alfa Romeo will also benefit from the upgrades, both teams will certainly hope it can deliver better results in the second half of the season.

How’s the Italian team doing so far?

The Scuderia have certainly improved since last season, but are hoping to get even better results once the season restarts. The team have managed to get on the podium on three occasions so far this season, thanks to Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc.

However, they haven’t managed to get a win this season. Hence, when the new upgrades are set to coming in the second half of the season, they hope to achieve some victories and seize some points for the championship.
