Amongst the constant hustle bustle of the F1 life, here’s a little heartwarming throwback to a time when the legendary, Michael Schumacher, handed over the torch.

Before walking away from the tracks, Michael Schumacher was driving for Mercedes. Before he left the sport, he vouched for one young man, Lewis Hamilton. Michael was always appreciative of his talent and hard work. And he would never hesitate to acknowledge greatness where it was due.
In an old interview from 2012, he said, “The people in charge repeatedly emphasised that they wanted me to continue working even after the season, And not for one year, but for two more years. I thought about it, but it would have been difficult, even for one year.”
“If you can get Lewis Hamilton, you should. I would have done the same; he is the right choice,” he concluded.

Ross Brawn, who worked with Schumacher at Ferrari, says that Hamilton is facing a similar situation today.

Ross Brawn was in conversation with the F1 Insider, when he expressed, “Lewis is in the twilight of his career. But that doesn’t mean it’s over yet
He added, “This year, for an extremely long time, he has had a car that he cannot win with. So he puts a lot of energy into changing that. For him, this time is a character test. It may well be that his team-mate George Russell is hungrier in the races as a result.”

“You can compare Lewis’ situation a bit with Michael’s comeback with Mercedes. As a driver, you always have to decide whether you want to be part of the solution or part of the problem.”
“Lewis will come back, I’m convinced,” he concluded.
Lewis Hamilton shares the title of a seven-time world champion with Michael Schumacher and is undeniably one of the most accomplished F1 drivers of all time.
