The German protégé Sebastian Vettel might have not won the most world championships. However, with his conduct on and off track, the boy from Heppenheim won millions of hearts. An unexpected name among those millions was the late American actor Paul Walker.

The beloved Fast and the Furious star died in a car crash on November 30, 2013, aged 40. The fatality occurred after he and his friend, Roger Rodas, crashed into a concrete lamp post and tree at 94mph. Despite the sad outcome, one could assume the American was a car and racing enthusiast.

Anyone making that assumption would be absolutely correct. Walker was, in fact, a fan of Formula 1, in particular Sebastian Vettel. Walker’s tweets from back in 2012 for the then-Red Bull world champion showcase exactly that.

“He’s coming for you Alonso. #f1” read one Tweet. Vettel caught Alonso in the end as he clinched the 2012 drivers’ championship with 3 points more than the Spaniard.

The other tweet showcased what he thinks about the German as it read, “He really is ridiculously good. #f1 Germany. Vettel – do work.”
