The showers at Spa were horrendous, the race was completed under the safety car, which didn’t create any excitement in the race. Hence, it was understandable the fans weren’t pleased, and Hamilton couldn’t agree more and felt they should get compensated. But, not all say eye-to-eye with the Mercedes driver.
A source told Sportsmail as quoted by Dailymail, “‘There is absolute fury internally at the naivety of Lewis’s comments… He could have expressed his opinions privately rather than in the way he did, which makes no sense.”

What did Hamilton say after the Belgian GP?
Drivers, teams, and most importantly fans were heartbroken not to have a proper race. Hamilton was disappointed not to put on show for the fans at Spa. He can understand their pain and felt that the F1 organizers should pay their hard-earned money back.
He said on Instagram, “Today was a farce and the only people to lost out are the fans who have paid good money to watch the race. Of course, you can’t do anything about the weather. But we have sophisticated equipment to tell us what’s going to let up. We were sent out for one reason, and one reason only.”

“Two laps behind a safety car where there is no possibility to gain or lose a place or provide entertainment to fans isn’t racing. We should have just called it quits, and not risked the drivers, and most importantly the fans who are the heart of our sport,” Hamilton concluded.
However, the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort is just in a week’s time, and Lewis will be hoping to give fans a race to get excited about. As for the fans, they hope not to see similar conditions in the Netherlands as they saw in Belgium.
