Reports: Alfa Romeo F1 Set for Major Electric Addition to Their Brand Value from 2024

Recently, Alfa Romeo owner, Stellantis, revealed that they have plans to pursue an all-electric future. In light of that, there is talk of Alfa Romeo being re-branded to Alfa e-Romeo. However, it is interesting to note that the Alfa Romeo F1 brand itself will not change.

However, reports suggest that there will be more symbols and promotional media on the cars. This includes a tweak to the iconic Visconti serpent which will likely represent an electric plug. On a different note, Stellantis revealed that there will be electric versions of the Biscione and Tonale models.

Will this affect the Alfa Romeo F1 team?

Admittedly, this should not affect the Alfa Romeo F1 team’s image. This is because the Alfa e-Romeo name will not be emblazoned on the Formula One cars. Coming back to the brand itself, early reports suggested that the Italian automobile manufacturer was interested in Formula E.

This is largely because of the 2022-23 regulations that will introduce the Gen3 cars. If the rules package is lucrative enough, Alfa Romeo may be tempted to join Formula E. On the other end of the scale, another scenario could be that Alfa Romeo remains in F1, while Maserati opts to join Formula E.

For now, the Alfa Romeo F1 team is perfectly content to stay in the sport. They have a decent driver lineup in the form of Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi. The Finn is proving to be a fountain of knowledge on the development front and is serving as a great mentor to Giovinazzi.

Meanwhile, Giovinazzi himself has been delivering excellent performances, particularly in qualifying. Together, the two of them have been helping the Italian team grow and stay away from the bottom of the leaderboard of the. 2021 Formula constructor’s championship.
