Mercedes has been the most dominant team on the Formula One grid in the turbo-hybrid era. The Brackley-based team has won eight consecutive constructors’ titles and is already getting ready to battle it out in the upcoming season.
The team has fired up the 2022 challenger, the W13, and is now focusing on the chassis dynamometer. With the Silver Arrows being ahead of their rivals for next season, it is surely going to be an adrenaline-fueled season.

Mercedes is already one step ahead of their rivals
The Toto Wolff-led team is known to make the most dominant cars on the F1 grid. Ever since the hybrid era, the team has bagged eight constructors’ titles. Now, as we head into the new era of racing, the Silver Arrows are gearing up for the 2022 season.

While most teams are using the Christmas break to recover from the season, Mercedes has been busy firing up their W13 and according to F1 reporter, Giuliano Duchessa, work has begun on the chassis dynamometer.

How did the Silver Arrows perform in 2021?
The Brackley-based outfit had an intense fight with Red Bull all season long, both in the constructors’ and the drivers’ championships. Lewis Hamilton managed to bag eight wins, five pole positions, and seventeen podiums, while Valtteri Bottas managed one win, four poles, and eleven podiums.

Hamilton earned 387.5 points, and Bottas finished at 226 points, giving a total of 613.5 points to the Silver Arrows, which saw them win the constructor’s championship; although the former lost the drivers’ title.

With the 2022 season a few months away, the Brackley-based outfit is looking forward to the winter break and will hope to come back stronger. The new lineup between Hamilton and George Russell gives the team a sense of optimism for the upcoming season. They will surely aim to win a ninth constructor’s title in Formula One.
