It all started when Alonso voiced his opinion regarding Hamilton’s titles and their worth to De Telegraaf. Talking about this, the Spaniard conveyed, “I also have a lot of respect for Lewis. However, it is different when you win seven world titles when you have only had to fight with your teammate.”

Now Hamilton decided to speak up in a blistering way. The Mercedes man didn’t take the words lightly, as he posted a picture of him and Alonso during their McLaren days. Hamilton posted the podium image of him and his then-teammate Alonso after winning the 2007 United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis.

As Hamilton shared the image of the 2007 race when he won the US Grand Prix against P2 Fernando Alonso, he might have wanted to hint towards the ‘beating teammate’ narrative. Interestingly, both Hamilton and Alonso finished the 2007 F1 season on identical points, where Kimi Raikkonen trumped the McLaren duo to pick up the driver’s title.

In a recent tweet, he conveyed, “Please, all the titles are amazing, well deserved, and inspiring. Incomparable to each other and let’s enjoy champions and legends of our current time. Tired of the continuous search for headlines. Let’s enjoy them.”
