The United Nations defines war crimes as those violations of international humanitarian law that incur individual criminal responsibility under international law. The death toll in the Gaza Strip has reached 4071, including 1413 children and 806 women. The sheer destruction of human life is distressing. As bodies pile up on both sides of the war, Max Verstappen’s girlfriend took to her Instagram to school everyone in a quick lesson in compassion and humanity.
Piquet took a strong stand condemning the violence being perpetrated on citizens of Gaza. She urged her followers to speak up against the savagery being committed in the name of war. The 34-year-old posted on her story, “You’re not antisemitic if you stand against war crimes!!!” The Brazilian model preceded her story with several posts and information on the ongoing conflict. She wrote, “Preparing to b@mb another hospital?”
The bombing of al-Ahli Arab Hospital left everyone shocked and distressed. Hundreds more died, including people who sought refuge from the war. Piquet has urged her following to be mindful and informed. She did not hold back from monetary aid for the children in Gaza, alluding to her motherhood.
However, Kelly Piquet is not the sole voice in Formula 1 speaking up on the crisis.

Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton, has spoken up on the conflict. Similar to Piquet, he took to Twitter to condemn the loss of civilian life. He confessed that his heart ached for the innocent lives lost.

The seven-time world champion urged for active participation, saying, “Now more than ever we need to come together. With so much hurt and grief, we need to use our collective power to put pressure on our leaders to do absolutely everything they can to find a way to end this. We shouldn’t rest until every child in the region is safe.”
The Formula 1 driver is a strong voice in Formula 1 for equal rights and representation. Either monetarily, or vocally, he actively works towards helping the minority. In this ongoing conflict, he shared several donation links to provide aid to the ailing.
