If Formula 1 fans in Mexico have anyone to thank for bringing the fast cars closer to them, it is Sergio Perez. The Red Bull driver is the sole reason for the Mexican Grand Prix to be on the F1 calendar. Proud of his heritage and the adoration of his home crowd, Perez has adopted a helmet design created by a fan ahead of his home race. The helmet proudly embodies the Mexican colours and the Mexican spirit. Marked with words, “Never Give up,” Perez seeks to live up to the love showered on him by his fans.
Sergio Perez started the 2023 season in high spirits. Wanting to repeat the glory of the Sakhir Grand Prix 2020, the Mexican driver unfortunately took the backseat in the Red Bull camp. Week after week, questions were raised about his declining performance. His worth at Red Bull was highly debated after failing to make it to Q3 in five consecutive races.
RB19 is definitely not a bad car. After all, his teammate defended his championship with that rocket ship. Although Perez, himself scored 240 points with the machinery, the Mexican driver fears losing P2 in the championship to Lewis Hamilton. However, amid speculations of his retirement announcement, the RB driver seeks to silence all rumours with a simple message on his helmet.

“Incredible,” fans amazed at the site of Sergio Perez’s helmet for the Mexican GP
Back in 2014, Nico Rosberg designed a helmet to celebrate Germany’s success in the Football World Cup Championship. However, the German never got to wear the original helmet. It was banned by FIFA for using the World Cup’s image. The point is that crash helmets provide F1 drivers an exceptional opportunity to celebrate their country in the Formula 1 world.
Treading on similar steps and celebrating the colours of Mexico, Sergio Perez is set to debut a fan-made helmet at his home race. And his fans are pouring in love and support for the RB driver.
Love the design! 🇲🇽🔥 The attention to detail is incredible. Can't wait to see Sergio Perez rock this helmet at his home Grand Prix. Good luck, Checo! 👍🏁 #MexicanGP
