Is Sergio Perez falling prey to Red Bull’s evil master plan? Ever since Max Verstappen has risen to the challenge of fighting for victories, Red Bull’s second driver has always been sidelined. And their performance starts dropping while Verstappen continues his rampage. That has been the case for Perez as well. Despite getting on the podium in Hungary, an F1 expert has shown Perez his place.
At the Hungarian GP, the Mexican racer started in P9. And putting his skills and caliber on display, he clinched P3. But while he was stuck making his way through to the podium places, Verstappen finished in P1 with a lead of 33 seconds over Lando Norris, in P2. Peter Windsor analyzed RB’s performance on his YouTube channel. And Windsor believes that Perez not challenging Verstappen is how Christian Horner and Co. would like to have it.

Windsor said, “Red Bull want that. I’m sure what happened this weekend with Sergio Perez is basically what Red Bull are kind of comfortable with that second car. Max – free and easy and out there dominating everything, doing everything perfectly in an imperfect car in Qualifying where the temperatures were a bit low.”
He elaborated, saying, “But, you know, for Perez to qualify where he did was difficult. But then again he recovered to finish third, got a bit of publicity. And it’s not a bad thing from Red Bull’s point of view.”
One can’t conclude if Red Bull is really that devious. But historically, they do appear to be so. But in the media, it doesn’t appear to be like that. After the race, Christian Horner more than lauded Perez for his heroics.

Christian Horner In Awe of “Brave” Sergio Perez After Brilliant Recovery at the Hungarian GP
Christian Horner has been in support of Sergio Perez throughout his downward spiral this year. Whenever Horner has spoken about Perez in the media, there’s never been any doubt in the tone of his voice. And that has helped Perez to make his way out of the rut. And after his act of bravado in Budapest, Horner has showered praise on him.
Horner said, post-race, as quoted by Mirror, “His recovery, his overtaking was brave. His pace was fast, the way he made the places, passing cars, passing Fernando [Alonso], passing [Oscar] Piastri – the strategy that he had, he was on fire today. I think his overtaking, the bravery that he showed, for me that was really a statement drive today to say, ‘Look, don’t write me off’.”
