The Red Bull camp has something that makes the drivers fearless. Red Bull encourages a competitive attitude among their drivers and this nature can extend to their teammates as well. The tension that seems to be building in Milton Keynes after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will provide for some pretty exciting scenarios in the upcoming races. And after all the action, the mighty Red Bull is advised to unleash their gladiators so they can dive into the sea of battles.

Sergio Perez defeated Max Verstappen at the Saudi Grand Prix this year, which has escalated the situation. However, Verstappen, who began the race in P-15 owing to a driver’s shaft issue in Q2, finished at P2 and stole the best lap honors from Sergio Perez, despite the fact that the team had advised the Dutchman there was no need for that. Again proving that his only aim is to win.

However, given that both drivers are currently neck-and-neck in the championship standings, with Verstappen leading by just one point thanks to his efforts to get fastest lap, the fumes that were noticed at the Jeddah track have the potential to increase during the season. And according to two-time champion Emerson Fittipaldi, who noted last year that Sergio Perez wouldn’t want to be Verstappen’s shadow any longer, believes that Red Bull would not impede in a potential title bout between the two gladiators.

As quoted by motorsport-total.com, the Brazilian said, ” If a team at this level has two riders who are good, then they should let them fight. [The situation is] completely open because they have almost the same points in the championship. It should be exciting for the fans.”

Perez has been a good teammate, helping Verstappen win his first title in 2021 and last year helping the team win the constructor’s championship. However, it is believed that following the Saudi GP victory, Perez won’t assist Verstappen going forward.

Following Max Verstappen’s fastest-lap antics, he wouldn’t get any support from Sergio Perez

Since Verstappen disregarded the target established by the team to deprive Sergio Perez of the fastest lap point, there appears to be rising tension within the Red Bull camp. Verstappen missed the “33.0” objective that his team instructed him to aim for as he moved into the penultimate lap. Besides, Sergio Perez also received the same information.

Verstappen, though, reacted negatively when the team informed him that they were “not concerned” about the quickest lap following extensive team radio discussions.
The Dutchman ultimately turned in the fastest lap, which propelled him to the top of the standings. Timo Glock speculates that this may mark the end of Checo’s cooperation while emphasizing the current circumstances.

While having a conversation with Sky Deutschland, he said, “Verstappen’s fastest lap, which he grabbed on the last lap, will again lead to internal discussions. Sergio Perez will not get involved in any topic in which he will have to support Verstappen in the future. I’m sure of that because the Mexican sees his chance to fight for the title with Verstappen.”

He also added, ” This will lead to a fight between the two. We can expect that there will be friction. Red Bull is certainly already aware of this. Perez showed that he is strong and has very good pace in the race.”
