Red Bull F1 team revealed their 2022 RB18 livery at a grand launch event in Milton Keynes, held on the 9th of February. The livery, however, was not the only big revelation in the star-studded event. Technology firm Oracle has partnered with the Red Bull team as the title sponsor for the next five years. This lucrative deal is reportedly one of the biggest this sport has ever seen.

The new title sponsor Oracle is one of the biggest database engines in the globe. Red Bull has previously partnered with brands like Aston Martin and Infinity. Along with their branding on the RB18, Red Bull tweaked their brand name to include their latest title sponsor, becoming Oracle Red Bull Racing.

The team was seeking technological support from Oracle during the 2021 season. As per the claims, it helped them increase their number of strategy simulations by 1000x and made that 10x more accurate. Now, after this ambitious and cash flooded partnership, the team will certainly aim to extract the most out of Oracle’s extensive database.

However, something that caught the eye of nearly every F1 fan were the whooping figures involved in this deal.

Red Bull far ahead of Mercedes in sponsorship numbers

Malaysian oil giants Petronas have been partnered as Mercedes’ title sponsor for over a decade. They reportedly shell out $75 million per season to the Brackley-based team. However, the new Red Bull title sponsorship deal has outnumbered their rival’s contract by a mile. Though both the parties did not reveal the exact numbers, sources suggest that the lucrative deal is worth $100 million a year, which makes it $500 million for 5 years, as per the contract.

Red Bull supremo Christian Horner looks motivated and optimistic about this partnership. “We’re all about speed and the speed of response. We’re pushing the Oracle technical guys. But they’re responding in the best possible way. And that’s what makes this partnership very exciting,” said Horner, as reported by Outlook.

“We’ve got a brand new set of regulations, a new technical challenge. We’ve got financial regulations that are driving and forcing efficiency, which is again where this partnership helps us to make sure that we’re as efficient and productive as we possibly can be,” added the Brit.
