The premium form of motorsport is all set to visit the North American country for the 20th round of the 2022 F1 season. With few days to go for the Mexican Grand Prix, the homeboy Sergio Perez shows off his impeccable skills.

The Red Bull star driver is seen driving through the tracks of the Mexican circuit with his eyes closed! Yes, you read it right. With eyes closed! The Guadalajara boy perfected every turn and corner to stay at the top of his game.

Known as the F1 guy, Vincenzo Landino shared a video of Perez driving on the Mexican circuit, “Watching @SChecoPerez drive the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez of the @mexicogp with his eyes closed is pure art. He’s even nailing the shifts!#MexicoGP #F1”

The driver of the number 11 car at Red Bull showcased this piece of brilliant skill during the simulation of the main race. For obvious reasons, including safety and costs, the team and Checo have decided to not stage this practically on the track. However, there’s no lying that Sergio Perez has been brilliant in this case.

Sergio Perez doesn’t want silly giveaways from Max Verstappen in Mexico

As the Mexican GP inches closer, there are various talking points regarding this. From expectations about Verstappen’s 14th race win to Perez’s home race win at Mexico City, it looks endless. Despite so many talking points, one among them has taken the solid ground that the Dutchman might help his Mexican counterpart for a win on his home soil.

However, the number 11 Red Bull driver wants to achieve everything on his own. Talking about this, Perez conveyed to ESPN, “I don’t need to be given anything. I have achieved everything without any gifts for so many years – not that it is necessary. In the end, I don’t think about it. I think about my work, about being perfect this weekend and looking for that victory [in Mexico].”

Despite this, when asked if there is a situation when Verstappen can provide a helping hand to the former Force India driver, he further shared, “I think in the end it’s normal, we all want to win. I think if it’s a situation where it’s different, where it’s a different help, I have no doubt he would do it like I have done with him in the past.”

Interestingly, Sergio Perez had an immensely successful Mexican Grand Prix last time out. Even though the 32-year-old had to settle for P3 after valiant efforts to fight off Lewis Hamilton, fans cheered for the Mexican throughout. With few days to go for the race, it’ll be interesting to see if Checo Perez can repeat the same feat this year.
