A Red Bull E-Sports driver named Marcel Kiefer from Germany has requested Elon Musk to buy an F1 team. He has been persistently replying to Elon Musk’s tweets with his requests for an F1 team acquisition.

The prospect of an Elon Musk-owned team in F1 is enticing and threatening at the same time. While the $199 Billion worth businessman has a big car brand like Tesla, he prefers electric powertrain cars over traditional combustion engines.

Though F1 is moving towards a sustainable power unit approach and currently use hybrid engines, it is less likely F1 will go fully electric in the future. So if Elon wishes for an electric motor-racing team of Tesla, he might rather look at Formula E.

Nonetheless, Kiefer from Karlsruhe, Germany is quite keen on Musk buying an F1 team. And for his company, there are fans who wish Elon to be in F1 in some capacity.

Fans react to the prospect of Elon Musk in F1

Few fans on social media have commented on their wishes about Elon being in F1 in some or the other roles. Here are a few of the tweets:

We dearly hope F1 never goes fully electric. While a sustainable hybrid power unit is great, a fully electric power unit in F1 also takes off the shine of the Formula E series.

Self-driving cars in F1, really? What do the drivers do then?
