Despite the budget cap penalization, there is no doubt in anyone’s mind, heading into 2023 Red Bull is the favorite. Max Verstappen takes a lot of credit for that in the foreground. The Dutchman did create the most race wins in a season record, after all. However, the victories aren’t his alone to celebrate as a massive team working for the win is in the background. From 2021 onwards, Oracle has been an integral part of the team in the background. However, for 2023, the title sponsors are taking things up a notch with a massive investment.

The investment that Oracle is putting in will increase the output of their existing function in the team as reported by Motorsport-Nextgen-Auto. Oracle, already helping Red Bull with split-second mid-race decisions, will increase the team’s efficiency by yielding 100 billion simulations.

Oracle estimates it will run four billion simulations during a race weekend and 100 billion during the entire season. These simulations will help Red Bull foresee every possible scenario and reduce the unpredictability of a race.

Team principal Christian Horner, while speaking to the media, acknowledged Oracle’s massive input in their combined championship-winning goal. “We rely on Oracle to analyze the data and provide us with the insights that will help us make smarter, more efficient, and faster decisions on and off the track. From race strategy to fan engagement–and also as a vital part of our Red Bull Powertrains infrastructure–Oracle is integral to our success as an organization,” said Horner.

The American company is the technical backbone of the team. The billions of race simulations help track-side strategists to make split-second decisions. Oracle reduced its latency and increased the volume of race simulations, increasing its race simulation output by 25%. This ocean of data analyzed and distilled for the strategists gives Red Bull the edge over the competition.
