In a departure from the serious tone dominating Formula 1 interviews, Red Bull organized a Q&A session via TikTok, providing fans with a rare opportunity to witness the lighter side of their racing heroes. This lighthearted session set the stage for an unexpected revelation from Checo about his relationship with the Dutchman.

Responding to a fan’s inquiry about the evolution of their relationship since their initial meeting, Perez injected humor into the discussion, stating, “It’s got a lot more romantic! This playful remark not only diffused any tension but added a delightful twist to the narrative surrounding their camaraderie.

Max Verstappen, quick to join in the jest, humorously started singing, More passion more passion, more energy more energy, more footwork more footwork. The exchange showcased a side of Dutchman you would never dare to imagine during a race weekend. The clip was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by RBR News.

This exchange dispelled any speculations that had been circulating in the media regarding a potential strain in Checo’s partnership with Verstappen, which gained momentum, particularly after the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix, where the Dutchman appeared to resist letting the Mexican pass him in the race’s closing stages to benefit Perez’s championship standings.

Whatever Checo’s relationship with Max may be, there’s no doubting the fact that it is tough to be on the same team as the 26-year-old triple-world champion.

Why is being a teammate to Verstappen no easy feat?

Pierre Gasly and Alex Albon, who once graced the Red Bull team alongside Max Verstappen, understand the daunting task of competing alongside a driver of his caliber. Reflecting on the difficulty of being Verstappen’s teammate, Albon acknowledged the challenging nature of the competition, describing Verstappen as one of the quickest and best drivers on the grid.

“I think it’s always tough. I think it’s tough to go against one of the quickest, one of the best drivers on the grid and call it a generational talent to some extent. So it wasn’t easy my year,” GP Blog quoted Alex Albon. Pierre Gasly echoed Albon’s sentiments, emphasizing the formidable combination of the best driver and the best team.

[It is] never easy to go against probably the best driver at the moment in combination with the best team and a team that is fully around him. So obviously a tough job,” Gasly added.
