Responding to a fan’s inquiry about the evolution of their relationship since their initial meeting, Perez injected humor into the discussion, stating, “It’s got a lot more romantic!” This playful remark not only diffused any tension but added a delightful twist to the narrative surrounding their camaraderie.

Max Verstappen, quick to join in the jest, humorously started singing, “More passion more passion, more energy more energy, more footwork more footwork.” The exchange showcased a side of Dutchman you would never dare to imagine during a race weekend. This exchange dispelled any speculations that had been circulating in the media regarding a potential strain in Checo’s partnership with Verstappen, which gained momentum, particularly after the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix, where the Dutchman appeared to resist letting the Mexican pass him in the race’s closing stages to benefit Perez’s championship standings.

“I think it’s always tough. I think it’s tough to go against one of the quickest, one of the best drivers on the grid and call it a generational talent to some extent.
