Did you know the Queen of No.1 albums and the Queen in the North are friends? To put it simply, did you know Taylor Swift and Sophie Turner have a bond close enough for them to have a girls’ night out in New York City? Superficially, people would think the only thing linking them was Joe Jonas. Swift dated (and split with) Jonas in 2008, and Turner was married to him until very recently. So, when they met up in the Big Apple a couple of days ago, fans conjured up theories about them plotting revenge on ‘Mr. Perfectly Fine.’ But that’s not all they conjured up. Turns out there might be a Max Verstappen link as well!

In early August, Taylor Swift announced that 1989 (Taylor’s Version) would drop on October 27th. For the unversed, the pop star is re-recording her albums preceding ‘Lover’. With every release, she’s also releasing songs she didn’t originally release. They’re called the songs ‘From the Vault.’ To announce these for 1989 (TV), she collaborated with Google to make anagram puzzles. 89 of them had to be solved 33 million times globally to reveal the track names. Here’s where things get interesting.
In 2015, Sophie Turner—with co-stars from the Marvel X-Men franchise—visited the Canadian GP. Which team invited them? You guessed it. Red Bull Racing. Max Verstappen was in his debut season, driving for Toro Rosso (now AlphaTauri) back then, but he was a Red Bull driver, nonetheless. Turner’s connection to Verstappen made fans speculate about whether she influenced Swift.

Until the 2021 season—when Verstappen wasn’t world champion—his racing number was 33. Verstappen was 33. Taylor Swift chose 33 million solves worldwide to announce her ‘From the Valut’ songs. See the connection? X (f.k.a. Twitter) user Taylor Swift: Eras Tour tweeted, “No, but why 33M puzzles?” F1 and Verstappen fans saw the opportunity and went for it!
Duh! Taylor is a “Verstappen fan”
The obvious answer for choosing 33 million is that Swift is currently 33. Million, commonly written only as ‘m,’ is the thirteenth letter of the Alphabet. 13 is Swift’s lucky number. Hence, 33 million. But when Taylor Swift and Verstappen fans got the opportunity to find the smallest of connections between the two, they couldn’t hold back.
Taylor Swift writes songs for the world, but Max Verstappen fans write songs for him. Apart from the “Max, Max, Max, Super Max!” anthem, there’s another equally famous one. It’s called “33 Max Verstappen.” Most fans referred to this while replying to the Swift fan and wrote the tune of the song.

Another user simply wrote how Swift is a Verstappen fan like it’s the most commonly known fact about her. ‘Taylor Swift loves Verstappen’ trumps ‘Taylor Swift loves cats.’
