The Singapore GP qualifying session was full of excitement and drama and a treat for the entire world of F1. A treat for everyone except the Red Bull camp who has been enjoying every race weekend until Singapore. The RB19 was not up to the task on the streets of Marina Bay Circuit and it showed. Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez got knocked out in Q2. However, it was Verstappen who suffered such an abysmal qualifying for the first time in the season. Despite the disappointing result, his reaction earned him criticism from an ex-Ferrari boss who believes he has nothing to worry about.

Verstappen’s reaction to the qualifying result will tell you all you need to know about how he felt about his first Q2 exit of the season. However, according to Peter Windsor, it was “a bit over the top” especially because he is in touching distance of his third championship with a mega lead. This is exactly why Windsor criticized Verstappen’s X-rated rant in his latest YouTube video.

“I saw the radio transmission from Max afterwards which was pretty grumpy really, overly so I think for a guy who’s got this year’s championship sewn up and he’s a brilliant car underneath him all year. It was along the lines of ‘Did you see that?’ ‘It was just impossible to drive’. A bit over the top really, I thought that reaction,” said Windsor.

However, Verstappen’s reaction shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even Lewis Hamilton foretold the excessive use of the F-word and called it a go-to reaction from the Dutchman.

Lewis Hamilton foretold X-rated rant of Max Verstappen as he showcased his angst toward the events in Singapore

During the British GP, the Mercedes man made a hilarious but honest admission about Verstappen having known him for as long as he has. During a press conference, Hamilton said, “He is only serious when he puts the F-word in front of it!”

This prophecy made by Hamilton was right on the money and we have already seen it come true on multiple occasions. The eventful Singapore GP served as more proof.

During the final practice session, the Red Bull man showcased a rare moment of vulnerability with the RB19. The Dutchman quickly and brutally communicated his annoyance with the car on the radio. He said, “I’m sorry, but I cannot drive with these upshifts. What the f**k is this? Unacceptable.”

The use of the F-word is how we know Verstappen was dead serious about the problem with the upshift. Soon after we say the problem knocked him out of the qualifying in the second round.

Verstappen was serious and Hamilton understood his tell. However, it will be interesting to see if we see more of that during the race as well or will these F-bombs turn into “simply lovely” at the end of the Singapore showdown.
