However, while the bureaucracy takes its time, everyone around the globe is talking about the incident and sharing their thoughts on it. The Brazilian model, as seen on Instagram. posted a host of stories talking about the Israel-Palestine conflict. The war that has consumed the two states has taken the lives of many civilians, including women and young children. This is the exact heartbreaking scenario Piquet tried to highlight through her Instagram stories.

One post shared by Piquet read, “We can hold multiple truths and push for what is just. There’s a clear Humanitarian Crisis unfolding before our eyes. We must have the capacity to acknowledge the pain and loss of the Israeli and Palestinian communities. The trauma, pain and anger are real. We must also have the capacity to hold on to the urgent need for support and allyship for the Palestinian peoples who have been pushed into yet-another forced relocation, killed in designated places of refuge, and denied access to humanitarian aid – no access to water, electricity or food- violating explicit international humanitarian laws. The history of oppression is real and our ability to demand justice is needed now.”

A story that followed was with a caption that prayed for the lives that were lost every day in the war. It read, “Hoping all the souls lost since October 7th are resting in peace, high up in the sky, watching over their loved ones.”
