Remember how Sergio Perez made the claim early on in the season that he is here to win the World Driver’s Championship? Well, we’ve come a long way since Checo made those claims and the Mexican is nowhere to be found in the title fight. Recently, Max Verstappen’s unparalleled quality was named as a bitter truth was shoved down Sergio Perez’s throat. What is Max Verstappen‘s quality?

Ever since the Miami GP, nobody has been able to stop Max Verstappen. The 25-year-old has already broken the record and looks up to extend his winning streak. Sergio Perez has been nowhere near Verstappen’s level. Despite the fact that he has regained some momentum, the Dutchman is just operating on a different level. Sergio Perez did show the fight early on but didn’t have what it took to challenge for the wins and title.

Amid all this, many people wonder if Max Verstappen is the greatest driver of all time. If we just look at the records and facts, then not quite there yet. But sure there in terms of talent, skill, and potential. In a recent podcast, it was explained how difficult it is to be the best week in and week out. It was then advised as a tangible method to evaluate the driver’s performance. 

According to the Race F1 podcast, the host while talking about Max Verstappen’s determination and mentality said, “F1 history is full of these drivers, who are considered good No.2, they could be fantastic but over a season they’re going to be very much up and down. And in fact, the majority of the drivers are going to be up and down. It’s the Verstappens of this world who are the standouts because they can do it race after race, season after season.”

Brutal reality was shoved down Sergio Perez’s throat as Max Verstappen was hailed. The only question that is left to be answered now is, will Red Bull be able to make a clean sweep this year?

George Russell advised at the start of the season that it’s very much possible for the Red Bull to win every single race this season. Guess what, Red Bull is way over the halfway line.  And with the dominant car that they have along with the fact that almost everyone has shifted focus to 2024, only a reliability issue can stop the Milton Keynes team. However, Singapore is up next and the characteristics of the track aren’t really the most favorable for the RB19.

Even Helmut Marko advised that Singapore will be a challenge as he said, “First of all our goal is to secure the world championships. But let’s say if we win in Singapore, then the chance is there that we can win all the races. Of course, it is becoming a goal now.”
