Formula 1 has produced an unprecedented amount of breaking news in 2024 and we haven’t even begun racing yet. We’ve covered a lot of incidents so far, but currently, everyone is talking about Christian Horner‘s ‘inappropriate behavior’ accusations. This news has created shockwaves in the F1 world with repercussions imminent. One such repercussion would be the retirement of Adrian Newey, or at least that’s what Peter Windsor believes.
Red Bull is currently investigating the allegations against Horner and will deliver a verdict on Friday. However, if the verdict is against Horner, who along with his wife denied all claims of any wrongdoing, the ex-Ferrari boss believes we will see the end of Adrian Newey’s career in Formula 1. He expressed this opinion in his latest live chat on YouTube when asked to comment on the matter.

“I wonder then about the future of the team. I certainly wonder about Adrian Newey and what he would do. I think he’s probably of an age where he would just retire. Maybe do the hypercar thing,” said Windsor.
He added, “I think he probably would retire because I think he would see it as finally the end of that era when he had Christian as sort of the buffer and really easy to get on with guy with whom he’s on the same wavelength between Adrian and what he wanted from Red Bull.”
Windsor concluded by saying, “If Christian departs it’ll obviously be bad for Christian but I think the bigger effect will be what effect it has on Adrian’s future.”
