A quick flashback to Max Verstappen’s home race this year reveals how the Dutchman braved through all the challenges fearlessly to take the win. And that has been the case his whole career. Verstappen will keep pushing the limits no matter what the scenario is. Now, Max Verstappen reveals the only thing that could end his F1 career despite dubbing himself as fearless. What is it?

The 3X World Champion was recently asked in the Mind Set Win podcast if he feels any fears about anything before or during the race. However, despite not fearing anything while racing, one thing might end Max Verstappen’s career. The Dutchman, after winning his 3rd title, talked about his hunger for F1 and whether he would lose it in the future. Verstappen explained that down the line, surely there would be a moment when he would’ve reached saturation level from F1. This is when he would want to move on to something else.
According to RacingNews365, Max Verstappen said, “For sure. I think that’s normal. Of course, I’m still very young, but at one point I think you’ve had enough. I think everyone at one point has that if that is because you realize that your body can’t handle it anymore in some sports, then you have to accept that. You have to just, in a way, retire. But for sure, at one point, you might want to do other stuff or race a bit less, absolutely.”

Unlike Fernando Alonso, who plans on racing forever until his body finally gives up, Max Verstappen’s statement hints at retirement from the sport as soon as he’s had enough of it. And since it’s not a quantitative measurement, no one really knows when Verstappen’s F1 Hunger would end. However, the Dutchman has hinted at an early retirement multiple times.

Max Verstappen is already being considered in the list of the greatest F1 drivers of all time. He is believed to be the one to break the 7 title record of Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher. However, to break all those records, the Dutchman would have to stay in the sport for a long time. And that seems a little unlikely given the comments that he has made over his F1 career.
Verstappen has already warned FIA and F1 after the changes to Sprint and Qualifying formats that any more drastic changes to the sport, he’ll be saying goodbye to F1. Verstappen also dislikes the marketing side of F1. Once, during a promotional shoot, he hinted at an early retirement. He said that it’s just a few more years of these shoots and then he’ll be gone.
