For the past few days, the father of Sergio Perez is in the limelight. The current performance of his son had made papa Perez go vocal on recent occasions. Antonio Perez Garibay was often supporting his son from the team’s garage. And now a former world champion has advised him to stay low profile.

Sergio Perez has been magnificent throughout the season. In fact, the Mexican driver gave a tough battle to his teammate and the star of Red Bull Max Verstappen. That being said, Perez Sr. supported his son throughout the season and was also visible during the Mexican GP, in the home race of his son. However, Antonio has now received a suggestion to stay away from the thick of things, like Jos Verstappen.
1997 world champion Jacques Villeneuve told to Formule1.nl. that António needs to be less viable as Max Verstappen’s dad, “I do think that Pérez’s father should keep out of it. In these times of social media, parents have a big voice that is heard everywhere,” said Villeneuve.“But that should not happen, they should not be involved. That is why you see that Jos Verstappen is less and less visible, he is being kept out more and more and that is good.”

The paparazzi have been behind Antonio these past few days. For many reasons, one was when post the Brazilian GP Sergio Perez’s dad criticized Dutchman’s ability after Verstappen turn down the team’s order to let pass Perez.
Antonio Perez feels Max Verstappen can’t win the races his son can
The Brazilian GP brought lots of criticism for Max Verstappen after he turned down the team’s order to let Perez pass. Among the harsh critiques came his teammate’s father Antonio Perez’s review, who believed that the Dutchman cannot win the races his son can.
Besides, senior Perez compared his son to some of Verstappen’s ex-teammates. He felt that all of them are inferior in terms of skills compared to his son. In a conversation with the Mexican newspaper Esto, Perez senior said, “Today Max already feels the breath of ‘Checo’ in his helmet because of what he is demonstrating.”

Adding further, he said, “He had never had a similar partner, the others were much inferior. ‘Checo’ wins the races that Max cannot, the truly difficult ones. I find it incredible that they defend [Sergio], that is the greatest satisfaction.”
The criticism came just after the day when Verstappen denied his teammate by giving up his P6 position.

Perez has a contract with Milton Keynes-based outfit for the next two years. Meanwhile, the team has added the jolly Australian in the team as a reserve driver. There is speculation that the team in the future can think of Daniel Ricciardo as their second driver.
