What would you do if your pet cat got locked in a room? Get a key to open the door, right? Well, the joke’s on you as Max Verstappen would rather knock down the door with his bare hands instead. And, if you thought this was just a hypothetical situation, you’re sorely mistaken, as that’s exactly what the Dutchman did. He smashed a hole in the door with a hammer to get his cat out and almost broke his shoulder amid the rescue effort.
But, that’s not all! The 26-year-old’s dedication to his four-legged best friend is so much that Verstappen even showcased his love for cats by revealing his $70 phone case during a live stream.
As the drivers took a short break ahead of the upcoming Miami GP, Max Verstappen decided to live-stream and showed his viewers the most adorable phone case ever. The accessory had a picture of a cat, which actually looked like the Chinese GP victor’s Bengal cats. Worth $70 and designed by Maja Tomlijanovic, the ‘Castify’s Impact Case Magsafe compatible case’ that the racer was using was named “Cat”.

The 3X world champion has two lovely Bengal cats named Jimmy and Sassy, and they have evidently been a part of his day-to-day off-track life. On one hilarious occasion, when the two felines resorted to disturbing him during a sim racing livestream, Verstappen even ended up addressing them as ‘Lewis’ and ‘Toto’. While we don’t know how Lewis Hamilton and Toto Wolff reacted after the comical shoutout, we guarantee that he would love them the same no matter what they were called.
