Red Bull has shown off its supremacy this season, winning all 7 races so far. No team has even come close to challenging them for a race win. The only variable for Red Bull is which of their drivers wins the race. Despite showing utter dominance, Team Principal Christian Horner believes that the job is far from being over.
Max Verstappen has given some of his finest performances this season. He leads the Drivers’ Championship with 170 points to his name, having won 5 races out of 7. His teammate, Sergio Perez has won the other 2 races. Owing to such stellar performances, Red Bull leads the Constructors’ championship as well, 135 points ahead of Mercedes.
In such a situation, it is very easy to believe that Red Bull will win both championships. But Horner remains grounded. He said, as quoted by laSexta, “Red Bull is not the favorite to be champion, anything can happen. I think both championships look very healthy at the moment. Our focus is now on Montreal, and that will be trying to get our 100th victory. After that, it’ll be the home race in Austria, after that will be the other home race in Silverstone. It just rolls on, and you go from event to event and don’t allow yourself to be thinking too far down the line.”

Horner also responded to people that believe both championships belong to Red Bull. He said, “There will always be someone who says something like that.”
Christian Horner might be downplaying his cards a substantial amount, but he is heedful of the possible threat from Mercedes and Aston Martin, and staying grounded will help them continue on their victorious journey.

Before Max Verstappen’s WDC victories, Red Bull won their last WDC in 2013, with Sebastian Vettel. Since then Mercedes had dominated the grid, having won 8 Championships in a row. After being second best for so many years, Horner explained how they went back to winning ways.
In an interview with Autosport, Horner mentioned how it took them 7 years to get Red Bull in this position again. He said that it is not just Verstappen, but each team member that has given their all to build and extract such a phenomenal performance from the car.
