As the popularity of Formula 1 surges through the roof, racing movies become an important commercial tool for Hollywood. Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton are leading Apple’s $140 million F1 project. Now, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Sony is also following suit with an exciting cast and it might interest the Red Bull fanbase.

Sony is reportedly producing a movie on their most popular racing series game Gran Turismo. The best-selling racing video game is finally getting its Hollywood adaptation. In the upcoming project, former Spice Girls singer Geri Halliwell-Horner will make her Hollywood debut.

The wife of the Red Bull Racing team principal Christian Horner got the nod for a role in the movie. She will work alongside Oscar-nominee Djimon Hounsou among other hugely talented group of actors.

As reported, the project is the ultimate wish-fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player. The teenager’s gaming skills wins him a series of competitions to become an actual professional race car driver. Hounsou and Halliwell-Horner will play the teenager’s parents.

Halliwell-Horner made the announcement on her Instagram with a cutout of the news reported by the Hollywood Reporter. Despite no experience with racing, Halliwell-Horner is in excellent hands with Christian Horner. The Brit has only just won a world championship with his team.

A championship that Halliwell-Horner also celebrated on her Instagram, congratulating her husband and the entire team. Plenty of back to back to celebrate in the Halliwell and Horner household.

Talking about celebrations, the Red Bull boss got emotional during the team’s title celebrations. A title Red Bull racing had been chasing since 2013.

The celebrations began after Verstappen won the US Grand Prix and clinched the constructors’ championship for the team. As the team began celebrating the triumph, Horner shed tears. Alongside him during this emotional moment was his wife Geri Halliwell hugging him.
