Ever since the dramatic Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton hasn’t been active on social media. There is a lot of speculation regarding his future in the sport as well. However, the team principal of Red Bull, Christian Horner, doesn’t believe it’s his business to get involved in Lewis’s decision of whether or not to continue in F1.
The 7-time world champion is certainly disappointed, unable to clinch his eighth world title in F1. Many within the racing community feel that Hamilton was “robbed” of a potential world championship. Even though Horner wishes to see Lewis return to the grid in 2022, he doesn’t think it’s his place to interfere with Hamilton’s choice.

Many would like to see the Mercedes driver compete in the forthcoming season, including Horner himself. However, he also feels it’s not his decision in the end.
Speaking to WION as quoted by GPblog, the British boss said, “I certainly hope he will be back this year. He is still driving at an incredibly high level. Those two drivers were in a different league last year.”
As has been mentioned before, he wishes to see the 37-year-old on the grid again, but at the same time, he feels it’s Lewis’ choice to make. Horner added, “That is none of our business.”

The new FIA boss is optimistic about the future of Lewis Hamilton in F1
The Formula One fanbase is concerned about if Lewis will compete in the upcoming season. But, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the new boss of the FIA feels that the 7-time world champion will return to the grid amidst the rumors.

As reported by Sky Sports, the FIA boss said, “No, I don’t think he will [quit]. I’ll ask your question, did Lewis declare that he’s not going to race? No. Exactly. Being a driver, you declare yourself, you don’t let the rumours [talk].
“I’m confident that Lewis [will return]. Lewis is a big part of motorsport, and of course of Formula 1, the new era [can add to] Lewis’s wins and achievements, and also Verstappen is there. I am very confident that you will see a very challenging Formula 1 season next year,” he concluded.
