Christian Horner‘s wife, Geri Halliwell, during her Spice Girls days, wasn’t as calm and collected as she is now. Ginger Spice was quite a firecracker of a character who expressed herself openly and flamboyantly. On one such occasion, she didn’t even spare the now King and then Prince, Charles III. If photos coming out from Netflix’s popular show The Crown’s set are to be trusted, the infamous encounter could feature in season 6 of the show.

The Spice Girls were among the attendees of the 21st anniversary of The Prince’s Trust Gala. Also present were Jennifer Aniston and Stephen Fry at the event where Geri pulled off one of the most infamous moments of celebrities breaking royal protocol. Group member Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B, and Geri planted kisses on King Charles’ cheek. As he was walking away, Halliwell, as then reported, pinched his bum.

Nearly 20 years after the incident, Geri cleared the air with an interview with The Times. “I didn’t pinch Prince Charles’s bum, as was reported,” she said.

“I patted it. Patting him on the bottom was against royal protocol but we’re all human.”

While Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed anything yet, the photos coming out from the set give the impression that the moment could be added to the upcoming season of the historical drama, The Crown. Dominic West will continue playing the then-Prince’s role in the new season.

When Geri Halliwell scrapped a major milestone celebration for the Queen

Geri is a big admirer of the royal family and admitted to deriving inspiration from Queen Elizabeth II. Last year, the royal monarch celebrated the platinum jubilee of her service to the Commonwealth, and Halliwell had a heartfelt video message recorded for her. In the message, Geri called the Queen “inspirational” and thanked her.

Turning 50 the same year, Geri had some elaborate plans to celebrate the occasion. Among the invitees were her fellow Spice Girls, Emma and Victoria. However, as the news of the Queen’s passing broke just days before her birthday, Geri scrapped the plans for the party.

Paying Her Majesty tribute through Instagram, she wrote, “My thoughts and sympathies go to the Royal Family for the loss of their Mother, Grandmother, Aunt. Thank you to Her Majesty for her resolute never-ending service. She is, and always will be the epitome of dignity and elegance.”
