In an interview, the Red Bull boss shared his thoughts on the Dutch star. He claims that he is ‘outstanding’ and witnessing him showcase his skill set is ‘very special.’
As per motorsport.com, he said, “There’s been years of domination with Mercedes, but I think as an individual driver, probably yes. He’s won the most grands prix in a year now, within 22 races.”
Horner shared that Max has been undoubtedly ‘outstanding.’ Impressed by Verstappen, he said that the Dutchman never puts ‘wheel wrong.’ He said, “He’s been perfect throughout the season. It’s incredible the level of consistency that he’s been able to achieve.”
Highlighting how the Dutchman isn’t acknowledged as much, he put ahead a demand saying, “I actually think his achievements sometimes don’t receive the plaudits that they should, because I think actually, what we’ve witnessed this year, is an absolutely outstanding performance from a driver that is very much at the top of his game.”
Horner also pointed out the effort the Red Bull team put in that made the season’s success a possibility.

He shared, “There’s a lot of people sitting around the engineering office and the garage, and back at the factory, that are all the same people that did that with Sebastian [Vettel] that are doing it again with Max.”

Horner explained that to go after their unanimous goal, the team works aggressively with undivided attention. To follow their passion and the sport they love so much, they do their very best.
“We are following Dietrich’s [Mateschitz] mantra of no risk, no fun,” he said, in conclusion.
