In 2021, Red Bull completed the herculean task of taking the driver’s championship away from Mercedes. A task that no team had managed in the last eight years. Before the Silver Arrows, it was Red Bull till 2013, who ruled F1 with Sebastian Vettel at the helm.

However, Red Bulls is on its way to repeating the feat and doing one better by leading the championship on both fronts. Mercedes’ persistent porpoising problem meant they couldn’t pick up where they left off in the previous bout. This left only Ferrari and Charles Leclerc to fight for the championship.

“There’s been a lot of hard races between the two of them in the first half of this championship and there hasn’t been a single touch. It’s great to see, and it’s enjoyable to be part of,” Horner pointed out.
