Ever since coming out with the new rule encompassing political statements, the FIA has been in the news frequently. The drivers were actually subject to new restrictions during the winter break that forbade them from making any political, religious, or personal remarks without first receiving permission from the FIA. The F1 community and the fans were upset by the governing body’s decision, therefore it was clear that these laws would be subject to scrutiny. Besides, several F1 drivers have recently shared their opinions on the matter. Majorly, the people were waiting for Lewis Hamilton to react, as he very much seemed to be to be target of the FIA. And when today Hamilton spoke, glimpses of rebellion were seen.

The most recent clampdown has fired up the Englishman again, and he now wants to thwart the FIA’s diabolical agenda. At the launch of Merceds’ W-14, Hamilton, the 103 GP champion, gave a four-word warning of rebellion.

He said, “I wasn’t really watching the news over the winter but I have heard it. It doesn’t surprise me but nothing will stop me from speaking on the things I feel passionate about and the issues there are. I feel the sport has a responsibility still, always, to speak out on things and create awareness on important topics when we are traveling to all these different places. So nothing changes.”
